An irresistible appetizer or snack, these baked Ritz crackers are the perfect holiday food! Pair these seasoned Ritz crackers with all sorts of dips for a tasty treat!
‘Tis the season! Now is the time we get out the stretchy pants from the bottom drawer and bring out the cheese platters from the top shelf! One of the things I look forward to most this time of year is all of the cheese and charcuterie boards abound! And what do you need most to go along with all of the cheese balls and softened cheeses? Delicious crackers!
Ritz crackers on their own are fantastic, but these seasoned baked Ritz crackers are extra special. Tossing them in a spice mixture with a bit of oil and baking them in the oven makes them extra delicious and addictive. They’re perfect for cheese boards!
What Ingredients Do You Need for Baked Ritz Crackers?
These crackers couldn’t be any easier. They’re super flavourful thanks to just the right amount and combination of seasonings. You’ll need the following ingredients for this recipe:
- 1 box Ritz crackers (200g)
- unsalted butter, melted
- Worcestershire sauce
- sea salt
- minced fresh garlic
- paprika
- onion powder
- Everything Bagel Seasoning
I get my Everything Bagel Seasoning from Superstore here in Canada, but you can get it at Trader Joe’s or other places if you’re in the US! You can also make your own.
How To Make Seasoned Ritz Crackers
1. Preheat the oven to 325 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter with all of the seasonings and spices. Add the entire box of Ritz crackers and stir gently until they’re all coated.
Tip: Only use the large, whole crackers for this recipe, not the bits and pieces.
2. Lay the crackers out in a single layer on the baking sheet, evenly spaced apart. Bake the crackers for 10-12 minutes in the oven, turning halfway. Remove them from the oven and allow them to cool completely before either serving them immediately or storing them in an airtight container for later.
How Long Can You Store Seasoned Crackers For?
I find these so delicious that we eat all of them within a day or two; however, if you have more self restraint than we do, you can easily store these crackers in an airtight container for up to 1 week before they do not taste as fresh.
Make ahead: If you’ve got company coming, make these a day or two before you plan to serve the crackers to save on time! Although, they’re quite delicious when they’re still a bit warm.
What Do You Serve Baked Ritz Crackers With?
These crackers are perfect on their own for a holiday snack, or added to a meat and cheese platter, like this turkey charcuterie board or holiday charcuterie wreath. Personally, I love smearing these crackers with softened Boursin cheese, or a dip. Try some of these great ideas:
- baked goat cheese dip
- roasted garlic hummus
- puff pastry wrapped brie
- spicy roasted red pepper hummus
Any sort of soft cheese or even a bruschetta would be perfect with these crackers!
Can You Use Other Crackers or Just Ritz?
I’ve only ever tried these with Ritz brand crackers but I would think anything that is similar would work just as well. Look for a cracker that’s otherwise plain, with no seasoning, only salt. If you’ve never had a Ritz, they have a great buttery, salty taste. I would imagine anything similar to this would work great with this recipe!
I’d also avoid a thin, fragile cracker and look for something fairly sturdy.
