I do love Halloween, but once it’s over I’m ready to bring out the Christmas tree. Ha! Who else loves, LOVES the holiday season!? Granted, things seem a little different this year, but I am determined to celebrate all the same!

One of my fave parts about the holidays is all of the gatherings, cookie exchanges and little parties with family and friends. We may not be able to do our usual gingerbread house decorating competition but here’s hoping.

OH – before I go any farther – the biggest news! We got a puppy!

His name is Baker and he’s a big pile of fuzz. He’s so soft and adorable! We have been on a wait list for a Bernedoodle for over a year now so we were very excited to get our pup!

Ok we can talk about this turkey charcuterie board now.

What is a charcuterie board?

If you haven’t had charcuterie before, you NEED to change that. Immediately! Charcuterie is basically just a large platter or cutting board piled up with a variety of meats and cheeses, jams, jellies, nuts and often fruits. So basically, a really, REALLY good meat and cheese board!

I swear I could eat charcuterie every day for lunch or dinner. I’m a grazer by nature so I love just being able to pick and choose. A charcuterie board is perfect for a gathering with family or friends because you can prepare everything ahead of time and then just leave it all out for a few hours. It’s a great way to get people mingling! Who doesn’t like meat and cheese?!

What do you put on a turkey charcuterie board?

For this board, I focused on turkey and things that went well with it. I’ve used:

  • turkey pepperoni sticks
  • turkey jerky
  • oven roasted turkey deli meat

The next most important component to a charcuterie board, other than the meat, is the CHEESE!

I love cheese. Probably something I eat every single day!

For this turkey charcuterie board, I used the following types of cheeses:

  • firm cheddar cheese (cubed)
  • jalapeno Havarti cheese (cubed)
  • Boursin cheese (the best thing EVER)
  • cranberry goat cheese
  • asiago cheese
  • a wheel of goat brie cheese
  • bocconcini cheese

Once you’ve got your meats and cheeses picked out and arranged on the board, add the crackers! I used an assortment of different crackers, including the classic Breton crackers and some parmesan rosemary bread twists!

After the meat, cheese and crackers, add some “others”. This could include jams and jellies, balsamic reduction (pictured), healthy candied walnuts, roasted chickpeas, olives (A MUST), dried fruits and some other fruits (grapes, berries). You could also throw in some chopped chocolate or other sweet things such as poky sticks or chocolate covered pretzels.

Voila!

How long does a turkey charcuterie board keep?

If you’re leaving your board out at room temperature, the general rule of thumb is 4-5 hours. After this time you may want to refrigerate some of the softened cheeses and the deli turkey meat.

Make sure that you include some essentials with your turkey board, like:

  • plates
  • napkins
  • small cheese knives
  • small spoons for any jams or jellies

The holidays are upon us and we’re all going to need some great food to feast on – whether it’s just your own family or you’re having a small gathering with friends! This charcuterie board will be a great addition to your entertaining lineup!

The holidays are a perfect time for a charcuterie board! This turkey charcuterie board combines turkey snack sticks, turkey salami and all sorts of other fruits and cheeses for your snacking pleasure!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 turkey pepperoni sticks, halved
  • 300 grams turkey jerky
  • 200 grams turkey deli meat
  • 1 apple, sliced into ¼” slices
  • 2025 assorted crackers
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 1 wheel brie cheese
  • 3 small bocconcini cheese balls
  • 1/3 cup assorted olives
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic honey
  • ¼ cup tomato jelly
  • ¼ cup roasted chickpeas
  • 2 cups seedless grapes
  • ¼ cup assorted nuts
  • ¼ cup raspberries, blueberries and blackberries
  • 100 grams chocolate covered pretzels

Instructions

  1. On a large charcuterie or serving platter, place the turkey pepperoni, turkey jerky and turkey deli meat on the corners of the board. Follow by placing apple slices and the crackers on various parts of the board. The cubed cheese can be piled on one side of the board, and place the brie cheese wheel and bocconcini balls nearby.
  2. Place the olives, balsamic honey, tomato jelly and roasted chickpeas in four separate, small dishes and find a spot for them on the board. Scatter the grapes, nuts and mixed berries all over the board, filling in any gaps. Add the chocolate covered pretzels at the end, placing them wherever you find a spot.
  3. Serve the board immediately; keep small serving plates and napkins nearby.

Notes

TIP: The board can be kept out at room temperature for 5-6 hours; refrigerate the deli meat and cheeses after this time.

  1. When it comes to a charcuterie or cheese board, I cannot stop until it’s empty (Which happens just within seconds). In fact, I don’t even need a nice arrangement for cheese and deli – I just open the fridge and that’s my charcuterie board lol. Jokes apart, we’re ready for the holiday season, and I am very much into festive cooking (for the blog) these days. That being said, this turkey charcuterie board looks insanely delicious and beautiful. My respect for your patience – I would have eaten most of the ingredients while trying to arrange them on the board 🙂

    1. I cannot stop either Ben!!! So many things to choose from and I NEED to try them all. Don’t think I didn’t eat many of the ingredients while making this board 😉

  2. We’re doing some Christmas decorating this weekend, and we always prepare a charcuterie board to enjoy while we’re trimming the tree. Love the turkey theme here. This is a board my hubby and I would devour quickly!

    1. I love that so much, what a great tradition!! I will have to do the same in a few years when my kids aren’t so crazy hahah. There would be cheese and meat everywhere!
