You only need 3 ingredients to make this mint Oreo mousse! This luscious, creamy mint mousse is one that you’ll be making again and again!
So, this weekend Etienne and I tried to give Baker a haircut….emphasis on the word “try”. Ha! I’ve never owned a long-haired dog before him. Short-haired dogs are sooo much easier! Other than the whole shedding thing. Anyway, we only ended up getting his face and legs done, so he looks like he’s wearing a ridiculously warm, puffy coat. We’ll get to the body part later. Sorry Baker.
In other news, I’ve been sitting on this super easy mint chocolate Oreo mousse for a little while now! It’s sooo good. You’re going to love it! If you love mint Oreo, which I really hope you do. This mousse tastes like the mint Oreo blizzard from Dairy Queen. Yum!
The mint is super refreshing, so this is a perfect little treat to have in the fridge for a warm day (I’m dreaming of summer).
How do you make mint Oreo mousse?
I first discovered this super easy mousse method from my friend Marie over at Sugar Salt Magic! She used plain Oreo cookies to make this magical mousse and I knew I had to try a mint Oreo version. It’s always been my favorite Oreo flavor!
To make this mousse, start by soaking 14 mint Oreos overnight, in a bowl with 2 cups of heavy cream. You want the cookies to get super soft and delicious before you start whipping them up!
Add the whole cream-soaked bowl of Oreos to a bowl with a stand mixer, or use an electric hand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Mix everything up on high, along with powdered sugar and a bit of mint extract to get that mint flavor to really pop! You can leave it out if you’d like but I highly recommend it!
Whip everything for 3-4 minutes, until fluffy and delicious.
Spoon the mousse into individual serving dishes or jars and place them in the fridge until chilled. You can definitely serve it right away, too!
What do you top this mint Oreo mousse with?
This mousse is awesome topped with extra whipped cream and a few crushed up Oreo cookies! If you really wanted to jazz things up you could drizzle them with some melted chocolate too!
The mousse will keep for 3-4 days in the fridge. The nice thing about using these mini mason jars for this dessert is that they’re super portable and you can keep them nice and sealed with a lid!
Can you make this mousse with a different flavored Oreo?
You can definitely use this 3-ingredient method for any other flavor of Oreo you want (maybe try the birthday cake ones)!? It would also be great with any other sandwich cookie! I plan to try it with a chocolate fudge cookie soon 🙂
If you’re a fan of mint you will love this mousse!
Enjoy!
