This apple cinnamon gin fizz is the perfect gin drink for fall. These autumn cocktails are made with homemade apple cinnamon syrup, mixed with a splash up of gin and topped off with some bubbly soda. Cheers!

Please note this post was originally published in 2018. I’ve since redone the post but the recipe remains the same.
Guys, the weather around here has been miserable. We had ONE day of sunshine last week, and it was glorious! The kids and I spent the whole day outside! Fall is usually my absolute favourite time of the year, but when I think of fall I think of crisp sunny days, crunchy leaves and walks to school. Unfortunately, Mother Nature has a weird sense of humor and decided that she was going to transition straight from summer to winter this year 😐
It’s been nothing but rain, snow and overcast days lately. Snow. SNOW! I don’t know if you saw my Insta stories yesterday but we got hit with 20cm of snow!! 20CM!!! What. The. Heck.
Regardless of the weather outside, I’m still going to get excited about fall through my participation in a fall blog hop! I’ve been lucky enough to participate in the Christmas, spring and summer blog hops hosted by Kendra from Joy In Our Home this past year and now we’re celebrating all things fall! You may have even come to this post after salivating over the apple crumb cake by Countryside Cravings. Be sure to check out all of the other fun posts linked on this page after my recipe for this apple cinnamon gin fizz!

So after all of my complaining about the weather, the obvious solution is to drown my sorrows in one (or two) of these apple cinnamon gin fizz cocktails!! They couldn’t be easier to make, and they literally SCREAM fall when you take a sip.
What is a gin fizz?
A classic gin fizz is simply gin mixed with either sweet or sour flavors (in this case, sweet) and topped off with some bubbly soda water!
In this drink, a simple apple cinnamon syrup comes together to combine with the gin. I make the syrup beforehand to create enough for 4-6 drinks, or 2 drinks to go with pancakes drizzled in apple cinnamon syrup 😉
The sliced apples in the drink are optional, but they look good and they make for a tasty little snack when you finish your cocktail! I also like to rim the glasses with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar to fancy things up a bit.
If you’re not a fan of gin, we’ve tried these drinks with vodka too and they were terrific.
I suggest you make yourself one of these fall cocktails while perusing the rest of the blog hop posts. Next up, pumpkin pie cheesecake by Chocolate with Grace!

Apple Cinnamon Gin Fizz
- Total Time: 45 minutes
- Yield: 1 cocktail 1x
Description
This apple cinnamon gin fizz is the perfect gin drink for fall. These autumn cocktails are made with homemade apple cinnamon syrup, mixed with a splash up of gin and topped off with some bubbly soda. Cheers!
Ingredients
Apple Cinnamon Simple Syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 apple (any kind), sliced
Cocktail
- 2 oz apple cinnamon simple syrup
- 1 1/2 oz gin
- 3 oz soda water
- ice, to fill
Instructions
- For the syrup: Stir the water, sugar and cinnamon together in a medium saucepan. Add the apple slices and place the saucepan on the stove over medium-high heat. Once the mixture starts bubbling, turn the stove to low and simmer with the lid on for 5-10 minutes. Remove the apple slices and pour the syrup into a jar to cool before using in your cocktails.
- In a cocktail glass, add the syrup and gin. Fill the glass 3/4 of the way full with ice, then top with soda water. Use a spoon to swirl everything together. Serve immediately.
Notes
- I like to rim my cocktail glasses with a cinnamon/sugar mixture.
- The syrup makes enough for 4-6 drinks; it will store for up to 1 week in the refrigerator.
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 10 minutes

This is just what we need to cool things down in Florida, Katherine! We’re still in the 80s and 90s wearing flip flops. I’ve never tried an apple cinnamon drink like this before so I’m excited to give it a go. It looks amazing! Hugs, CoCo
WOW I’m so jealous of your flip flop weather!! I would trade my snow for your sun in a heartbeat haha! I bet you’d love the drink. Thanks friend!
This looks like the most perfect drink for Fall! Cannot wait to try it!
Thank you Kristi!! I hope you love it!
This apple gin fizz looks like the perfect Fall cocktail! What a fun blog hop! Great recipes and crafts 🙂
It is a perfect drink for fall, Kelly!! Thank you! There are so many good posts in this hop 🙂
I need this Apple Cinnamon Gin Fizz in my life! It’s refreshing but fall-ish all at once! Love it! On a less fall note, I can’t believe you guys got slammed with so much snow yesterday. You really go from summer to winter in Calgary! We actually have a nice fall in Newfoundland. The downside is that we don’t have a spring. We go from winter (which usually ends in June) to summer! Stay warm Katherine!
Soooo much snow Leanne! This year has been so weird. We went from winter straight to summer, then summer straight to fall. No in between! I wish I was experiencing your nice fall with you! Have a great week my friend!
SNOW already?!?! I’m definitely not ready for winter!! We finally have some fall weather now and I hope it sticks around for a while!! I can’t wait to try this drink out as well, YUM!
Snoooooow!! I know! I’m not ready either but I guess I have no choice in the matter! Thanks Malinda!
Hi Kathryn, wow that looks super refreshing and perfect for fall. Sounds like you need something a little warmer this week though……Gorgeous pictures too!
Definitely thinking I could use a HOT apple cinnamon drink today! Thank you so much Christine!
Looks so festive and perfect for fall. Love this tour! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Cindy! It has been a fun blog hop 🙂
Definitely too early to have snow. Hope it will melt so you could enjoy outside more with little ones. Until then let’s have Apple Cinnamon Gin Fizz 🙂 Bye for now 🙂
I hope it will melt too! I need a little more outside time until real winter sets in. Thank you!!
Ok – first off…seriously, keep the snow your way, lol. I don’t want it. At all. Let’s just go from fall to summer, ok?? A secondly, this cocktail? Love the fall vibes and it looks super refreshing. Those apple wedges are definitely not optional because they add to the cute factor. Cheers to this beauty, my friend 🙂
Uuugh Dawn, I don’t want the snow either!! But I’m hoping for your sake that it will stay on this side of Canada haha! Thank you my friend! I’m with you, the apple wedges are definitely not optional. You gotta have a snack while you’re drinking, right!? Cheers!
This looks and sounds delicious! As a girl who grew up in Canada and is now sweating in the great state of TX, I’m kinda jealous of your snow 😉
Oh I’m jealous! My husband is actually just getting back from Texas. I’d like to trade places for a bit!
Always so nice to have your delicious recipes for this blog hop! We still have apples from our tree and I’m going to make this syrup to have at Thanksgiving! Thanks so much for sharing, friend!
Thanks Kendra! I hope you love the syrup, you can put it on everything if you want!! Love being part of the blog hop, as always! Happy Thanksgiving!
Yes, I did see your Instagram stories, and although I love snow (in moderation), I am happy with the weather in Nova Scotia (even though it’s been raining a lot lately). But don’t worry about snow. It will disappear sooner or later, perhaps even just before Christmas as it often happens 🙂 Lovely coctails!
I will take your rain over this snow. I hope that it disappears sooner, rather than later! Thanks Ben!! Happy Thanksgiving!
Yes, I saw your stories and I think you all need to move south. Today! I could not handle snow in September! But I could handle one of these gin fizzes. Or two :). They sound so refreshing and fall-y! I’m sending you sunny vibes!
I definitely need to move south, Kelsie! I tell my husband every day in the winter that we need to move. Snow this early in the year is just unfair! Thank you for the sunny vibes, I need anything I can take! Let’s have a drink together sometime 😉

Hi Katherine! This would make the perfect cocktail for those warm fall afternoons here in Nor Cal when I want a fall flavored drink but it’s too warm for hot beverages. So happy to be hopping with you this week!
Yes!! That’s exactly what I was going for, Michelle. Unfortunately I’ll be drinking it even though it’s freezing outside here already!! Cheers!

These are fabulous cocktails! And you made them look so pretty. Wow. that’s a lot of snow. Two days ago it was 92 degrees, yesterday only 62, it’s hot again today. what can you do.
Wow, I would trade you for those temperatures in a heartbeat! I am living in Canada but my heart is somewhere much warmer 😉 Thank you for the kind words!
I’m sorry your weather is so bad…why can’t it just be fall?? This cocktail looks so refreshing with the crisp apple — I could use 1 or 2 tonight! 🙂
Why not, indeed!? I really do love fall when it’s actually fall! Thanks Marcie. You definitely deserve 2 of these!
What a delicious cocktail, so refreshing! 😀 And love these beautiful photos!
Thank you Catherine!! I really enjoyed photographing these ones 🙂 Hope you’re well!
Such a pretty fall drink!! Homemade apple cinnamon syrup takes it to the next level, can’t wait to make this Kathy:)
The homemade syrup is seriously so good! I could drink it by itself! Thank you Maria 🙂
