easy yogurt fruit dip

We’re road tripping today! We’re headed to our neighbor province, beautiful BC to meet up with Etienne’s sister and her family and do some camping. The trip to BC feels a bit weird this year, since there has been a lot of hard feelings about Calgarians heading out West, with everything that’s going on right now. Normally we would just stay put and travel local for camping, but we haven’t spent time with our family in so long, we’re going to do it. And I’m 98.9% positive we aren’t “bringing” anything with us.

Anyway, one of the most fun, yet most stressful parts of camping for me is prepping all of the food. It’s so much work! I’m bringing a schwack of fresh fruit this time, and I’m also bringing a batch of this yummy 3 ingredient fruit dip! My kids are pretty good about eating their fruits and veggies, but a yummy dip for their strawberries is never a bad idea.

The best part about this dip is that you can whip it together in about 5 minutes, with only 3 ingredients. Surprise, surprise. I know I’m always keeping you guys on your toes 😉

What’s in this easy yogurt fruit dip?

For this recipe you’ll need:

  • vanilla bean Greek yogurt
  • whipped cream
  • maple syrup

If you can’t find vanilla bean yogurt, you can use regular vanilla yogurt, or plain yogurt with a tablespoon of vanilla extract mixed in. The vanilla flavor is key to this dip! Since I want to keep this light and fairly healthy, that extra vanilla flavor is important. Should I keep going? Don’t skip it!

How do you make 3 ingredient fruit dip?

Start by whipping the whipped cream, in a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, or with a handheld electric mixer. Beat the cream until stiff peaks form. Add in the maple syrup and whip for a few more seconds, until incorporated.

Now, fold in the Greek yogurt with a rubber spatula. Fold it in, rather than stir it in, to keep things light and fluffy.

Scrape everything into the container or serving dish of choice, and serve! I added a bit of lemon zest for presentation, but it also adds a nice light lemony flavor!

Is this easy yogurt fruit dip healthy?

I think it is! Many fruit dip recipes call for a ton of sugar, or processed cool whip, or cream cheese (which is delicious). In comparison to that, I would say this is a pretty healthy option! And I promise you, it’s delicious. You will be tempted to eat it with a spoon!

The Greek yogurt also adds a nice boost of protein. Total health food!

What kind of fruit can you serve easy yogurt fruit dip with?

Any! Our favorites are strawberries and bananas, but if you can dunk it, literally any fruit will work. Since I made a couple of different batches of this while testing, I actually scooped some of it into a fruit salad and mixed it up. So good! Add some granola too!

How long does this fruit dip last?

In the fridge, this dip will last up to 1 week; however, you also need to be cognizant of the expiry date of the whipping cream and yogurt before you incorporate it.

Now, wish me luck on this camping adventure. We’re certainly getting good use of the new trailer!

Cheers!
