Description
These easy hot honey chicken wings are made in the air fryer or oven, and couldn’t be simpler to make! They are perfect for game day or wing Wednesday. Simple and delicious!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings, (flats and drumettes)
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
Hot Honey Sauce
- 1/2 cup pure honey
- 2 tbsp hot sauce*
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Air Fryer Directions: Pat the chicken wings dry all over with paper towel. In a small bowl, combine together the paprika, chili powder and salt. Place the wings in a bowl along with the avocado oil and combined seasonings. Toss everything together until the wings are evenly coated.
- In the bottom of the air fryer basket**, place a piece of aluminum foil to help with easy cleanup! Place the wings evenly spaced apart in the air fryer basket, then cook the wings in the air fryer at 400 F for 25 minutes, turning the wings halfway. You might have to do this in two batches!
- Make the hot honey sauce. While the wings are cooking, combine the hot sauce, butter and honey all together in a small saucepan on the stove over low heat. Once the sauce starts simmering, let it bubble for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and keep the lid on to keep the sauce warm while the wings cook!
- The wings are finished cooking when they’re brown and crispy! Once done, place the wings into a serving dish and pour the hot honey sauce all over them, then toss them to coat all over in saucy, sticky goodness!
For oven cooked wings, follow the directions in the blog post above.
Notes
*Use your favourite hot sauce, but I like Frank’s red hot sauce!
**Be sure the wings are evenly spaced apart to ensure crispiness! You might have to cook the wings in two batches.
