10 thoughts for thursday

1.  10 Thoughts for Thursday. It’s back. I took a hiatus (more on that to come) but the thoughts have returned!

2.  THIS sourdough bread!! Sourdough is my nemesis. Until, this week. It took me 2 weeks to get my starter going, but voila! This loaf turned out perrrrrfectly! 🙂

3.  Eating with a stuffed-up nose. Ugh. You basically have to gasp for air in between bites!!

4.  Speaking of stuffed-up noses, SO MUCH SICKNESS around this place the past few weeks. Winter hit, and the germs came with it!!

5.  Trevor Noah’s latest Netflix show. Hilarious. I love that he can be SO funny without being ridiculously crude. Watch it!

6.  This cake. WHAT!? Dying!

7.  Cranberries. ALLLL the cranberries!! I love them so much this time of year – I’ve got a great recipe coming for you tomorrow!

8.  National Greek yogurt day today – it’s one of my favourite things to bake with!! Raspberry chocolate banana bread anyone?

9.  Clothes falling off hangers. In your closet, at the store. Gah!! It drives me nuts. Especially when I’m just browsing at a clothing store and the mere act of glancing at a shirt makes it slip off and fall to the floor. Of course, I have to pick it up.

10.  The time change. How does 1 hour make such a difference!? My kids are now hungry at 11 and I’m falling asleep at 9….*snore*….

Until next time!

About Katherine

Heeey! Thank you for stopping by! I like 30-minute dinners and giant peanut butter cups made with only 3 ingredients. I LOVE food! If you do too, you're in the right place.

  1. HOORAY for your sourdough starter! Sourdough baking is so addictive; I inherited my grandma’s sourdough starter years ago and I just can’t get enough :). And hooray for cranberries too! They’re easily my favorite ingredient this time of year. I hope you’re all feeling better soon, Katherine! I’m sending you healing thoughts

    1. I am so jealous of your sourdough starter!! The inherited ones are the best – it’s crazy how long these things can be passed down, year after year!! Mine is definitely still “immature” but it did the trick – and you’re right – I’m SO addicted now. Thanks so much Kelsie, we’re on the mend!! 🙂 Cheers!

  2. Hahahaha #9!!!! I’m totally with you on that. And then you put the item back on the hanger and it falls off again. Gah! I’m glad you are back with your 10 thoughts! Love it!

    1. Aaah haha I’m glad you’re with me on that Kelly! I feel like I barely touch the shirt sometimes and it slips off lol. Thanks doll!

  3. I’ve always dreamed of baking a sourdough loaf in my kitchen. But, chicken out every time. This loaf looks very professional, something you’d find in an artisanal bakery. Fabulous job my friend!!! Speaking of #9, grrr

    1. It’s definitely a little daunting, but with some patience it can easily be done!! You should try it!! Thank you so much Maria! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! 🙂 Haha – I think #9 spoke to a lot of women!!!

  4. Your sourdough is gorgeous! I’m dying to to try a no-knead… (baby steps…) Great list, Katherine – you crack me up!!

  5. That sourdough looks incredible, Katherine! Seriously, that Snickers cake is madness (in a good way 😉 ) I hope that you and your family are all feeling great now.

    1. Thank you so much Marissa! I am so proud of how it turned out. Now I just have to repeat the success! The cold came my way unfortunately, but at least the boys are all back to their bouncy selves!!

  6. This sourdough loaf looks amazing, just like what you’d get at a bakery! I’m glad your patience with the starter paid off! I hope the cold germs leave your house soon. I did daycare for 16 years and swear by Airborne. I would have been sick all the time without it.

    1. Thank you dear!! I’m so glad my patience paid off too! Well worth the effort! I have never tried Airborne but I’ve heard a few other people who swear by it. I must get my hands on it! Thanks for the tip!! XO
